THIS SUMMER BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY: 30th August - Chelseagirl goes home. The King's road, the Embankment and other wondrous haunts of McClaren/Westwood and the bohemian trendsetters of the sixties and seventies. . Now, embark upon The sixth Vauxhall Griffin Treasure Hunt.
There's £100 up for first prize! and a few other surprises too!
Teams of 4 max, £5.00 per team.
You can register at the Vauxhall Griffin bar from Monday 16th August- and pay up too.
The whole thing kicks off with a briefing at 11:30am so don't miss it and DON'T BE LATE!

Well congratulations to Team Science - The overall winners of the quiz league launched in April. They walked away with Four memberships to the Clapham Picturehouse Cinema, Four tickets to see Jimmy Carr at the Apollo in Hammersmith and the complete DVD collection of James Bond films.
Congratulations also go to Team Fats and Small who won a collection of board games and who sadly lost out by ONE POINT!
The jackpot is once again over £100.
The cost of entry is just £2.00 per person with a maximum of four to a team. *(additional members may incur a penalty unless the team divides accordingly!).
Anyway, enough of the rules until Tuesday.

We serve actual home cooked pie and mash, and we play actual interesting music, all the crazy way from Belle Stars to Little Boots, via all manner of indie, electronica and sonic nuggetry. Wine Vs Cheese
August 28
...It's the Bank Holiday weekend, so consider our carpets rolled out. PiE&MASH helps you celebrate the last bank holiday of the summer by landing itself on a sprucy SATURDAY for a unique one-off event.
We have teamed up with the delicious fruits over at WINE vs CHEESE to supply you with a whole day of parlour games, faff, pornography and music melee. Four teams, a bundle of puerile nonsense.
What to expect: Balloon modelling; CUTTING THINGS OUT; acting your tits off; photos; STREET COUNTDOWN; abuse of the local Sainsbury's; spunking onto Boris Johnson. We'll be throwing in a barbeque for kicks, too.
Who will conquer? Will it be Team Pie? Team Mash? Team Wine? Team Cheese?
The games are informal and fun, but help us keep a track of numbers by signing up to sister event 'WINE vs CHEESE 5' to let us know you're coming to this part and to keep up with the latest info.
IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THE GAMES THEN PLEASE BRING A RUBBISH PRESENT (no more than £5 in value), wrapped and ready to present to an opposing team.
The games kick off sharp at 2pm and continue until the early evening. At 8pm, the PiE&MASH Team take the reins to regale you with soothing tunes of wonder, homemade pie, creamy mash and moreish gravy. Expect summery tunes, free shots and the usual penchant for buggery.
Rock Band Live!

The boys are back again to host the 5th Rock Band live night, and to present another night of singing with the band.
You can belt out your fave Killers hit in front of your drunken mates on a Saturday night can't you?
You can prance up and down the bedroom, murdering Queen, Oasis, The Fratellis (and even Girls Aloud I bet!).
Think you could cut it in front of a live band? Could you?
Here's your chance
With songs ranging from The Beatles to Slade and from Take That to, yes.....Girls Aloud, you can grab the mic and prove it once and for all. That you were born to be on stage!
Available for parties or functions
You can reserve a table, and if you give us enough notice, we'll play the UK Top 20 from the week you were born - and give you a copy! Contact us for more details - and if you're planning a larger party, you might prefer using the Ruby Lounge.

The Sunday Supplement: An Indian Summer
August 15
15th August is India's Independence Day, to mark the occasion The Vauxhall Griffin will be hosting another special Sunday Supplement session with Indian food and beer deals.
As it's Sunday Supplement there will of course be music supplied by DJ (Tiara Kitten) Milkshake, who will be spinning a collection of classics and contemporary music with a decidedly Indian theme. From Bollywood to Brick Lane. A spicy cocktail of cinematic s...ongs of yesteryear and contemporary rhythms from the likes of Asha Bhosle, Nitin Sawhney,Mohammad Rafi, Talvin Singh and many more.
djbidup will be joining the party playing his unique blend of Indian and Western fusion.
The whole thing kicks off at 2pm so come along for a afternoon of eastern promise (Saris optional)
The Sunday Supplement
Every Sunday
Dinners will now be served every Sunday from 2pm - 5pm.
From 2pm we have a new regular musical interlude hosted each week by one of four disc jockeys, picking the more gentle pops from over 50 years for you to sit back, chat, play games, read the newspapers and don't forget to visit the bar! So while it's cold outside, come to the Griffin, eat one of our fantastic Sunday roasts and then settle back in to one of our sofas and enjoy melodic tunes ranging from Billie Holiday and Alma Cogan to The Flaming Lips and Peter, Bjorn and John.
Hayley nevermind, Bid-Up, David B and not forgetting Kiss and Make Up's Stuart serve up a good slice of relaxed snooze-music to help your food go down.
Sunday 2nd May will be the last Sunday Supplement until September and will be hosted by Rockin' Ravin' Tony of Vauxhall (actually - John, the owner)

CINEMA RETURNS SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER:
Every week we will be showing movies as part of a monthly themed season including works by notable directors such as Hitchcock, Wilder or Scorcese, actors or simply genres such as ‘50’s America or post war Britain. We will be setting up a membership scheme that allows members priority booking for all films and more importantly -free popcorn!!
CINEMA is held in the comfort of the Ruby Lounge every Sunday of the month. There are 25 seats that can be reserved in advance by members.
Films will start at 7:30pm without interruption.
The Ruby Lounge capacity for Cinema is 25 and seats will be available on a first come-first served basis.
